Howdy! So I was just thinking about some stuff.....and thought that I would put some pictures on here of where I grew up. Its fun to remember going certain places! Are you ready to take a little trip out West?
This is Independence Rock. The pioneers on the Oregon Trail used it as a land mark. The rock is covered with the names and dates of those who passed it and even today you can see the old wagon ruts in the prarie leading to and from the rock. I've climbed it--not a mountain by any means, but definitely fun:)

These are the Grand Tetons (part of the Rocky Mountains). They are just gorgeous--always covered with snow at the peaks, even in the middle of summer.

More Tetons...

These are the Big Horn Mountains...

And the waterfalls...

This is a picture taken on top of Casper Mountain of the town of Casper, Wyoming. This is where I spent the majority of my childhood. We lived about 20 minutes from the ski slopes on this mountian--in fact, sometimes our PE class would actually consist of going skiing :D

This is downtown Casper. Look! We actually had a movie theater! Whoo hooo:)

This place is called Natural Bridge. Can you guess why??? ;P Anyway, this is where my family gets together for our family reunions:) It is a lot of fun...but the water is SUPER cold- it is melted snow water after all!!!!

This is a Jackalope. They run all over the place and eat the veggies in your garden. Silly things;P

You may or may not think of wild horses still running around, but they do! Mustangs are not as common as they once were, but every now and then...

This is Devil's Tower. The Indians had legends about how the formation was created by a giant grizzly bear that clawed the sides of the rock. Pretty cool.

RODEO!!! WHOOO HOOO!!!! Gotta love cowboys^_^ Yeah man, when we had the state fair and the rodeo in town, that was like the highlight of the year! Dude, hope he didn't get stomped on....those rodeo clowns had better get on their game! (P.S. the ONLY kind of clown that doesn't bother me is one that is getting chased by a bull!!! Haha!!!)

Its not uncommon to see Native Americans running around either--these happen to be Cherokees which are not technically from Wyoming, but I put them on because I am 1/18 th Cherokee:) So I'm biased, give me a break lol.

Wyoming also has a LOT of wind. Seriously...it can easily get up to 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts to 50 or 60. Lets just say that there is an aquired art to wearing a skirt (I don't care how long or short it is!).

Can't forget Yellowstone National Park. Good Old Faithful:)

This is also in Yellowstone: Morning Glory Pool. It is one of the many hot springs found in the park....pretty to look at, not so pretty to smell. (because of the mineral deposits and sulfur and everything, it smells an awful lot like rotten eggs sometimes)

This is generally what Wyoming looks like whenever we got some rare rain in the summer...lots of plains and hills and sagebrush and open sky^_^

And this is what it looked like the other 9 months out of the year (i.e., winter.) Wyoming only has 2 seasons...about 9 months of freezing/snow/winter and about 3 months of not quite so cold/sunny summer.

So anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the slideshow. Just thought that maybe you might like to see where I really come from:)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
